Winter, You Can Leave Now

If winter had a personality, it would be that guest who overstays their welcome, eats all your snacks, and then turns the thermostat down just to mess with you.

We have done the coats. The boots. The scraping ice off the windshield like it is a full-time job. The “maybe it is warmer tomorrow” lies we tell ourselves every week.

It has been cold in NY. For a while.

At this point, I am not even asking for summer. I am just asking to step outside without negotiating with the weather like it owes me money.

And normally, this is when I would say “fine, I am booking a flight somewhere warm.” But with all the government TSA issues lately, even escaping requires patience I simply do not have right now.

So here I am. Still cold. Still waiting for a little sun...a hint of green... one day where I do not have to wear three layers just to take out the trash.

Spring, if you are out there… this is your cue.
